HUCKABEE CAN WIN

As my previous post says I support Mike Huckabee for President. If you are from West Virginia and interested in helping Mike let me know.
Here is how I believe he can win the nomination. As of now polling wise no one has a majority. I believe either as other lower tier candidates drop out this will help Mike. I feel one of two things will happen. 1) As the primary's go he will pick up and win enough delegates to win the nomination or 2)no one will have a majority going to the National Convention and he will pick up delegates as others drop out.
I believe he can win the election, especially if Hillary is his opponent, just as her husband upset George Bush Sr.
Again anyone in West Virginia that wants to help Mike let me know.

HUCKABEE FOR PRESIDENT

For what it's worth I am throwing my support to Mike Huckabee. I have talked to a few people and several consider him a longshot. I however feel he is the conservative voice many of us are looking for. Also I feel the "frontrunners" will split the vote and Mike will appeal to the conservative base and could get the nomination and win the election.

WV TEACHERS

Copy of a letter I recently sent to the Cburg paper. Let me know what you think.

I would say I am amazed, but I'm not. I think it is funny. Again we went thru an election where the teachers & state employees generally endorsed Democrats(with a few exceptions), then after the elections, the Dems turn around and give them the shaft. Then surprise the teachers and state employees gripe, cry and generally complain. When are they going to learn.

I have had people tell me, well it is more than the Republicans would do. How do you know? I know Rob Capehart received the endorsement of the WVAFT & WVEA(in the 2004 gubenatorial primary), by telling them he felt they needed a raise, but there were other areas more pressing. "Lets fix them then we will see if we can give you a raise. Unfortunalely he lost.

Now what is going to really be funny is when Nationally the Dems, and unfortunately I think Pres Bush is going to go along with them, raise the minimum wage and prices go higher. Then what little raise MOJO does give the teachers will be ate up by inflation. No wait it won't be funny it will really be sad.

All I can say is I didn't vote for them.

WHOSE FIRST IN YOUR LIFE

Although I am almost 57 years old, I'm still not sure what I am doing with my life. I have 3 adult children and although they all have strayed at one time or the other, the Lord has really blessed me and they have, all 3, turned out pretty good I am divorced, but my ex and I get along pretty good now.
Although I am a Christian and have been saved for 26 years, my life has been a mess, largley because of my own stupid decisions. In the last couple of years things have started to straighten up in my life, but I am still not sure what the Lord has in store for me. I have however finally figured out what I need to do. Now I just need to do what I am supposed to.

The whole thing amounts to who or what do I put first in my life. While I have been saved over 26 years and know that God is always in control, most of the time I have not put him first in my life. I feel that is the main challenge most Christians have.

We need to put God first and seek his will in everything we do. A few years ago I heard this, our life should be JOY; Jesus first, Others second, yourself last. To many times we make it reversed.

So anyone who reads this before you do something, no matter how small, always seek God's will, do what he tells you and put him first in everything.

I'm putting this in writing so the day after the election, I can say see I told you so. I strongly believe that the GOP will not lose the majority in the House or Congress. They might lose a few seats(but I don't think they will), but I strongly believe they won't lose the majority. While the GOP may lose some seats, I feel they will win some many people think they will lose(Like WV's Senate seat and the Northern and Southern House seats.) The Dems do not have any ideas, all they want to do is complain and not offer any solutions.
On another note I have been watching Tammy Bruce and got to thinking about "gay marriage". Can't gay couples enter into a contract, such as power of attorney, as well as other contracts, which would for all intent or purposes given them the same thing as marriage, without needing the actual marriage.
One last thing. Gov Manchin where is the 1% sales tax cut.

More Misc Thoughts

PARTISAN DIVIDE - The media makes a big thing about how divided the country is and how partisan we are. I feel they try to blame Republicans, but to me(and yes I'm biased)it's the Dems. Case in point 1)Watergate vs Monica Lewinski, a)what brought Nixon down, the Republicans joined with the Dems and told Nixon basicly "We can't stand behind you". Why did Clinton survive? The Dems stood behind their guy(unlike the GOP did with Nixon)and he survived. By the way I may be wrong, but I don't believe Nixon was actually convicted of anything and Clinton was.
2)The current War on Terror. In every other military action the opposition party stood behind the Pres(ex: Clinton - Bosnia, etc), even if they disagreed with them. That is not the case now.
"THE PICTURE" - As people that have read my blog know I feel the Board of Education should remove the picture of Jesus(it is NOT a portrait) from Bridgeport High. One of the things Mike Queen keeps saying is "it is a question of the Principal's personal freedom". I can't see how Mr. Queen thinks this is a question of the Principal's personal freedom. Because it is put up on a wall in the Hall that everyone can see. If the picture was put up in the Principals office(even though the student's would be subjected to it, if they came to his office)then I feel they would have a better case. The ACLU may try to fight that also, but I feel that would be a winnable battle.
AIRPORT TRAVEL - I haven't flown for a long time and may not ever fly again, or I might. Not that I'm against it, just that at this time in my life it is not something I do. However I can sympathize with the people who fly. But to the ones that are complaining about the hassles they go through, I ask this question would you want to spend 2 hours extra prior to leaving or leave and not ever arrive. Also people IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE HASSLES FIND SOMEWAY ELSE TO TRAVEL.

IN DEFENSE OF DR. DOUG MCKINNEY - The WV for life issued a letter concerning Dr. Mckinney who is running for Chairman of the Republican Party. I support Doug and while I may not agree with his stance a few years ago, I feel he is 99% Pro Life. I am 100% Pro-Life and do not feel abortion is right in any manner(the Republican platform allows it in the case of rape, incest and the Life of the mother(the only time Doug agrees with it). I feel the WV for Life should spend their time getting the Democratic Leaders that have gotten their endorsement in the past(including our "most influential Gov") to change the Dems platform.
WHERE'S THE TAX CUT - Gov. Manchin said he was going to cut the food tax 1% a year every year. Where is it this year.

1)For Liberal/Democrats in WV how come it is wrong when Don Blankenship uses his own money to help elect people we agrees with or defeat people or propasals he disagrees with, but it is OK, that the Rockefellers, Kennedys, Kerrys, etc., can use their money to get themselves elected as well as to causes they agree with?
2)Again, I ask our Governor where is the 1% deduction in the food tax we were supposed to have this year(1% every year, until it was phased out.)
3) I was talking to a teacher the other day. I asked why the WVEA keeps endorsing Dems and they lie to them(yes they do endorse a few GOP in some local races), especially in Governor races. She said " you don't think a Republican would have gave us a raise do you". I said maybe not, but Manchin wanted to do away with being able to save sick days, and was responsible for the fiasco about retirement.
she the said"well Underwood didn't help us any". I didn't ask, but I got to thinking "did the legislature propose any raises and Underwood veto them" the answer no.
4)I can't understand why the people in the southern part of the state stay so loyal to the Dems, but always complain about how the State is shafting them.
5)If Robert Byrd has done so much for our State how come we are 49th & 50th in the positive categorys and 1st & 2nd in the negatives.

METRO GOV - HC

After reading some other blogs & comments I started thinking about metro gov here in Harrison C0. Now a couple disclaimers as said on Previous blogs I am a conservative Republican. I do think many of the problems in our state as well as our County is one party rule(I will also admit if the GOP had control of the state for 70 yrs it would probably have the same effect). I also feel why Bridgeport is growing and moving forward is they are more conservative/Republican than Clarksburg.
I feel to many people in Clarksburg, in leadership roles, are still interested is helping their friends or relatives, instead of moving Cburg forward. In Bport while yes there is some favortism(I don't think as much as many think), they are interested in what's best for the city, because in the long run it will help everyone. Now while I realize there are many good people in Clarksburg(and in leadership roles) and consider many of them my friends, I still feel this overall attitude is right. I can speak with some authority on this, because I have lived in B'port most of my life, but have lived & worked in Cburg and since I'm divorced, my kids went to RCB and have many dealings thru various organizations in Cburg.
Now if Harrison Co. went to Metro, they would probably have some form of enlarged County Com with representatives from different areas, so I feel if we went to Metro, it may give Conservative/Republicans more of a chance.
One last point, even though the city council elections are non-partisan, I feel looking at the party affilitations of council members, from the varioius cities in Harrison Co, it can give us an idea to the attitudes. Cburg all Dems, Bport I believe 3 maybe 4 Republicans. An exception, Shinnston it appears is moving forward and has some long range plans and their council, I believe is all Dems. I believe the reason for the difference is the ones in Shinnston have more conservative ideas even though they are Dems.

FAIR TAX

I don't know why, but I've been thinking about Taxes lately. Something that I heard about 4 years or so ago and have since read about it and investigated and feel it is something that is a very good alternative to the Income Tax, is the FAIR TAX. Neil Bortz wrote a book about it over a year ago. I am only going to be able to hit the main points, but if you would like to check it out, check out www.fairtax.org, or buy his book. Here are the main points:
1. Eliminate the IRS. Make them INS agents.
2. When you get paid you would get your gross pay, no deductions.
3. National Sales tax on all new goods & services, of 23%. a)While this sounds high, remember all business have a built in expense of 22.5%(this includes Social Sec.,expense to pay accountants, etc). b)All taxes including Social Sec would be in this tax. c) Studies have been done that prove income to the Federal Government would increase. d) 20 major corporations
have already said if this passed they would relocate back in the USA.
4. Everyone would receive a Prebate(which equals about $125 per person)monthly, to cover what would be normal living expenses.

WV TAXES

This has nothing to do with what has been in the news lately, but something has been on my mine for awhile. This pertains to WV residents, but our Governor Joe Manchin, said he would reduce our sales tax by 1% each year(I believe as most Republicans in WV that we should remove the sales tax at least on food). He did it last year, but no mention of it this year. What happened Joe?

JERSEY GIRLS

As I was reading an article about Ann Coulter's comments about the Jersey Girls(9/11 widows who spoke out against Bush and campaigned for Kerry), I thought back to Jessica Hahn.
The Jersey Girls have chosen to speak out against, Pres Bush, make money, campaign for Kerry and become public. While they have the right to do that, there were other people who lost loved ones on 9/11, but chose not to be public about it, so these Jersey Girls should be willing to take whatever comes to them.
The reason this makes me think of Jessica Hahn is this. For the ones of you probably under 30, Jessica Hahn was a secretary for then Rev. Jim Baker founder and leader of the PTL Christian "empire". Hahn claimed and eventually proved that Baker raped her and it took down Baker and his empire. When everything was revealed and her claims proved true, everyone felt sorry for her, and rightly so, because what she went thru was wrong. However she then CHOSE to appear topless in I believe Playboy(it may have not been, but it was topless in a mens magazine)and she received a lot of money. A few months after the pictures came out she interviewed with some one and she said she "just wanted to be left alone". Well if she wanted to be left alone, she sure had a strange way of showing it. While the "Jersey Girls" did not appear topless, if they didn't want to be criticized they shouldn't have been so public. To quote, I believe Pres. Truman "If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen".

GOP/DEMS & GOD

After hearing about OsamaBama(if I misspelled his name it was not intentionally and not disrespect meant), the member of Congress from Chicago, statement about the Dems need to reach out to people of faith or something like that and because of a comment on another post, I felt the need to explain a few things.
I do not feel the Republicans or Conservatives "own" God or Christ. I know many Democrats who are very strong Christians, probably stronger than me.
I do have a challenge with how they can justify supporting candidates who a pro-abortion, among other things, with their Christian values, but that is between them and God. I am not the one to judge them in regards to their relationship to God. I would have to make a choice if they ran for office and that would be based on many things.
The Dems want to reach out to Christians specificly and other "people of faith" in general. The problem I think they face is they know they need people of faith to get elected, however it is hard for us to support a party that 1) believes it is OK to kill innocent babies, 2) that want special rights for people that have a lifestyle contray to Scripture and when we speak out about it & we disagree with the special rights, we are called intolerant, among other things, 3)we have to tolerate every religion in our PUBLIC schools, but honor students can not talk about GOD or JESUS at graduations and students at graduations cannot chose to have a prayer if they want to, 4)but they won't allow vouchers so parents(who pay taxes for these schools)who are not happy with the public shools take their kids to Christian School, 5)Creationism is not even looked at as an alternative to Evolution, as well as other things.
The Dems and their willing accomplises the mainsream media, treat Christians as if they are Flag waving, Intolerant, Gun Toting, Unintelligient, Abortion Clinic bombing, Far Right Fanatics.
Dems also act like Conservative Christians do not care about the poor, just becuase they do not want to raise taxes and create more entitlement programs. Christian people want to help the poor, they feel it is a private thing and they should be willing, which many are, to give of their own choice and not the government taking it and giving it to what they feel is important. Christian organizations as well as individuals give to many charitable causes, both for catastrophes and day to day both oversees and locally.
During Katrina, Southern Baptists nationwide gave more money and help than any organization except the Red Cross and that is only one denomination. I have to laugh Rockefeller and Kennedy want to raise our taxes, why don't they give their money to help the poor.
So Dems if you want to get more Christian support, I could tell you what to do, but you won't listen.

Scientific basis for Creationism

After reading comments from Annoyed and thinking some, I thought why not expalin a few things that disprove Evolution.
One of the main tennants of Evolution is we and all living forms are Evolving to higher level organisms, when in fact we are devolving we are mutations of early man. Now someone will say well we are living longer. Yes we are living longer than people in the middle ages, but early man lived to 500 or more and that is proved by science. We have more knowledge now, because people keep building on things they learn. Also evolution can not provide the "missing link".
There are other examples and they can be found at www.answersingenesis.org. however if you chose not to check it out, then that is your choice. All I can say is I will pray for you, because if you continue to keep that attitude you will be sorry when your life here ends.
There is only one right answer, you may think I am wrong, that is your right. I do enjoy reading your posts and do agree with some. Thanks GOD BLESS

Deadline for Iraq

I understand why Pres. Bush does not want to put a date deadline, but what about specific numeralical goals. I know he has said when the Iraqis can take care of themselves. But would there be some numerical goals he could give us. I'm not sure that is viable either and I'm sure not smart enough to figure out what they would be, but I would think some one could figure it out.

Creationism is backed by Scientists of Merit

In answer to Annoyed, their are many Scientist of Merit that agree with Creationism. If you are truly "open minded" as you say check out www.answersingenesis.org
However, my point is the people that want to take the picture down, at least many of them, are of the Jewish faith and they agree with Creationism.
I feel the people who want the picture kept up would make better use of their time by uniting with the people on things they agree with and could have a more positive effect on the school(even if others disagree). Rather than fighting over a picture that, probably not is even a true representation of Christ.

I apologize for not keeping up with my blog. I do appreciate Annoyed reading and posting on my blog. In regards to my post about the country being divided. I do not think it is a bad thing and I would agree that both sides are responsible, the difference is the Dems/Libs cry and gripe about it the GOP accepts it and realize it is part of life.
In answer to people that say we shouldn't be so divided. That is because they want you to agree with them.
I feel a good example is comparing "Watergate" & "Monicagate". When Nixon was caught with "his pants down" figuratively the Dems went after him and maybe belatedly but the GOP went along with them and forced Nixon out.
With "Monicagate", when Clinton was caught with "his pants down" literally, the GOP went after him. What did the Dems do, they united behind Clinton and claimed partisinship and was saying how divisive the GOP was.

DEMS KEEP TALKING & When are they going to get it

Living in West Virginia and now teaching in the Southern Part of the state I am amazed at the people of our state and especially the area I am theaching in. First if you haven't read any of my previous post I am a far right Conservative,Republican. I am a conservative first and a Republican next. I am a fan of George Bush, but think he messed up joining with Ted Kennedy and passing No Child Left Behind I also am not happy with his lack of better immigration policy.
The Dems have controlled WV for 70 years. The county I teach in Reps are outnumbered 9 - 1 by Dems. The county is one of the lowest on the economic scale in WV. People are constantly complaining about the state government, but the keep electing liberal Dems and they are proud of it. Now the state is changing a little(we went for Bush both times)and the GOP is making gains in the House & Senate State wide.
People keep saying how much Robert C. Byrd has done for the State. Well if he has done so much for the state why are we in the shape we're in.
My second point I think the Dems have a Death Wish, both nationally & statewide. I know they want to take over the Congrees but they keep talking and shooting themselves in the foot. They recently put out a plan to take back Congress(similar to what the GOP did a few years ago with the Contract with America). All it was, was complaints and no way to accomplish it. There are other instances, but there to many to mention.
SO I hope the Democrats keep talking, because the more they talk, the more they shoot themselves in the foot.

Misc Thoughts

Another thougth on the Jesus Picture. Instead of Christians fighting whether this picture should or shouldn't be up, why don't they spend the time and money to get creationism taught in the schools. Contray to what the liberal/humanists say science proves creationism.
On another note about Gas Prices. While people gripe about how much money oil co. make, where would we be if they didn't make big profits. We wouldn't have gas, because they wouldn't invest their own money and take the risk.

The Picture of Jesus

I am a graduate of BHS and can remember that picture being there. As you can probably tell from my previous post I am very conservative. As I say in my profile I would probably be considered a "far right relegious nut".
However I do disagree with my brethren that are bent on keeping this picture up. First I normally do not agree with the ACLU. However this time they are right. All the arguements have been made.
Two I feel have not been made 1)Christians have enough real legitimate fights on their hand, that they shouldn't pick one they can't win. Yes I know we are to stand up for Christ, but is that really what we are doing when we are forcing non-Christians to look at a picture(which by the way is probably not what Christ looked like)of our God.
2)All the time wasted on protesting could be used to do what God told us to do "go and witness".
How much better would the time of the students been spent, that instead of standing out side protesting and no doubt alienating the non-Christians, then witnessing to them.
Their conversation ,with one of the students that wanted the picture taken down, could have been something like this.
"Hey I can understand how you feel and if I was in your shoes I'd probably feel the same. And if they keep it up or take it down really isn't that important. But you know the person in that picture really means a lot to me. Could a take a minute and tell you why." Then they could share their testimony.
Now I realize this is coming from a 56 year old man who has had sales & evangelizing experience. But what if the Christian students adult leaders had instructed them in that instead of encouraging to protest. Which would have been more beneficial to God's kingdom.

More Ramblings

I get a laugh when the liberals talk about how divesive the country is now, that it has never been this bad. That we need to get back to agreeing more.
Yeah it wasn't that divesive when the Dems controlled everything(b/c the GOP tryed to get along and weren't that organized) but now that the GOP has control all the Libs can do is criticize and that causes division. But the problem is the libs criticize, but don't offer solutions.
I believe and we will find out in November, that will continue to hurt the Dems. They think they are going to take control of Congress and they might, but I feel as long as they "stay the course",they won't win. Time will tell.

NEW CONSERVATIVE RAMBLINGS

Well I'm back from Mingo Co. I have about 7 weeks that I have nothing I actually have to do. So I am going to try to post daily. I have several things I feel need to be said, so in no particular order here they are.
1) Gov. Manchin said he was going to cut the sales tax 1% a year(I feel they should cut it totally out on food) well why haven't they cut it the 1% this year.
2)Why do liberals/Democrats think Republicans/conservatives don't care for the "poor" just because we don't want to raise taxes to create more entitlement programs. There is hardly any mention, in the main-stream media, about conservative organizations charity work. Some examples the Southern Baptist Convention work in New Orleans(as well as I'm sure other religious organizations)& overseas for the various disasters, also work done by Pat Robertsons CBN & Jerry Falwell's org(even though sometime they say things they shouldn't), there are also many other conservative organizations and people that give to many charitable causes. I am also sure there are many liberal org, that give and help. The point is just because you don't want to raise taxes doesn't mean you don't care about the poor. By the way if our liberal Senators like Rockefeller & Kennedy want to help the poor why don't they give some of thier money. More tomorrow.

CONSERVATIVE RAMBLINGS

I'm trying to post more, because I have many things to say, but I get busy and then forget to post stuff. Well here goes.
I am teaching in Mingo county. I am very blessed. I get along with all the teachers, although many of them do not know that I am a conservative. I try to keep my moth shut(the ones of you that know me, know thats difficult), but the other day it was really hard. One of my pet gripes is that the WVEA and the AFT continually support the Democrats, but the Democrats either lie to them or change things. Well its happening again.
Gov Manchin is going to try to pass a change. Teachers get 15 sick days a year(3 of them they can use for any reason), the unused days they can save up(in case of an emergency)from year to year. They can use any unused days when they retire, for health insurance. Well our illustrious Gov wants to change it so they can't save up the days. He also wants to change the retirement system, which will cut benefits for many of the current teachers close to retirement. I'm not sure how it will effect me and it might even help me, because more teachers will retire sooner and I might be able to get a teaching job back in Harrison County. But what amazes me is that Manchin is trying to shaft the teachers again and they will keep supporting the Dems.

DRAFT CONDI

I haven't post anything for quite awhile. However I am going to update a little and try to update at least weekly. First I am going to start promoting Draft Condi for President. I will post the the web address for the Condi for President when I get it.
I am now teaching in Mingo county and have not been real active in Republican politics. However I am trying to start working both for Harrison County and to see if I can help the GOP in Mingo County.

"SUPERSIZE ME"

No I sure don't need supersized. However yesterday I watched the Movie "SUPERSIZE ME". I originally said I would not watch that movie. However on the advice of Tim Brady, (Harrison County's answer to Rush Limbaugh).I watched the movie. While I am glad I watched it and I did enjoy it. I have really not changed my opinion of it.
I did not learn anything in general about the eating habits of Americans that I did not know. Yes we eat at fast food restaurants to much, yes it is not good for us. But it is our choice. According to Mr. Spulock, we Americans are ignorant, easily influenced people who can be led around by the media advertising.
Mr. Spurlock purposely overate and cut out his exercise. Yes he gained weight and had other health problems. However I had heard on the radio, last year, a lady out west LOST weight only eating at McDonalds. While Mr. Spurlock did not lie, he sure "spun" things. He says a chicken salad with Ranch dressing has more calories than a hamburger. That is true, however if you don't use dressing or use low fat or lite dressing you can cut the calories almost in 1/2.
I go to Weight Watchers, yes I am overweight, I am now working on losing again. While there are many factors contributing to my weight problem,I was an only child, my mom fed me good(me, my dad & mom had a weight problem), etc., the bottom line is I am overweight and at age 55 it is MY FAULT.
While watching the movie, I took one of my Weight Watchers books out(it gives the point value(that's what WW uses for their program)for restaurant chains)and figured up a days meal eating only at McDonals. I can have 39 pts. a day. I had a plan for 37 points which included two hamburgers. But I drank either tea, coffee or diet pop or water. I would be willing to go on an all McDonalds diet to show I could lose weight, If anyone wants to finance it.
About 1/4 of the movie talks about how unhealthy the school lunch programs are and how inadequate the PE programs in most schools are. There have been several articles about this thru the years, that is nothing new. Plus this sure isn't McDonalds fault, it's our governments. But even with that if the young people or their parents want to eat responsible they can. They don't have to eat everything the lunch program provides and they can exercise on their own.
At the end Mr. Spurlock did allude to the fact that it is up to us. But that was ONE statement.
There were several other individual statements I took exception to, but it is not worth going into.
I have not had the time to talk with Tim and he said it really opened his eyes. Now I realize I'm a lot older than Tim, but I still can't believe in general he learned anything new.
I did enjoy watching the gastro by-pass surgery. That made me more sure I don't want to have the surgery. Surgery didn't make me fat.
Mr. Spurlock made a lot of money and he still is, knocking McDonalds and the food industry in general. More power to him, but the bottom line they are doing nothing illegal and when we come to McDonalds, they don't have a giant electro magnet that pulls us in. We also can say NO to our kids. mine are raised I took them to Mc Donalds, but a lot of times I didn't.

If the dems are going to criticize Pres. Bush for his Social Security plan, why don't they offer an alternative. I say lets try his idea, it couldn't be any worse than what we have and its OPTIONAL.
As tax day has passed I think we should take a long hard look at the Fair Tax(national sales tax). It would do away with the IRS completely and put a 23% sales tax on all New goods and services. it would make products cheaper, because companies would not have to pay as much for accountants. I hope the people in West Virginia wake up and realize that for all the good the Honorable Robert C. Byrd has done for the state it is time for him to go. The more he talks in the last few years the worse he looks and the more it makes the state look bad. I am also amazed(not really)that the media doesn't hold him(or for that matter any other liberal)to the same standard they hold conservatives & Republicans.
I also cannot understand why people are opposed to Pres. Bush's SS privitization plan. People over 55 won't be effected and everyone else it is optional. Also every place its been tried(Chile, San Antonio, & the Congress)it has worked. Why won't the legislature let us common people have the same perks they have. It is so funny the Dems want to say how they are for the working man, but they don't want the working man to be able to have the choice of privitazing his own SS(also they don't want to give the working man the choice of being able to send their kids to private school, like many of them do).
Last but not least the Senate needs to let the President's judicial nominees come to a vote. Yes the Senate did disapprove some of Clinton's nominees, but they got a up or down vote. They weren't fillibustered.

Why don't the liberals get it.

A few thoughts about things in the news. They Democrats in the legislature(and unfortunatly some Republicans)are talking about raising the minimum-wage. How come they can not figure out that raising the minimum-wage will not help. Right now the minimum-wage is 5.15 an hour, say they raise it to 6.00 an hour, then everyone making between 5.15 & 6 now will have to get a raise, and on up the ladder, so prices will go up more. Most people who have minimum wage jobs do not stay in them. If they stay there they choose to.
Now I know someone might say you don't know how it is. Yes I do I have a Masters degree and a teaching certificate. I have worked minimum wage jobs prior to getting my education and after, but I didn't stay there I found ways to work to get a higher paying job.
With all the programs available to people, they can get retraining, etc. and find a better job.

From my first post I forgot to mention my Mother. My mom is a nice lady who unfortunatley worries a lot, but has always been there for me. While we have disagreements I know that she wants whats best for me.

This is the third time I am trying this. After the initial post I forget everything and can't add things so I'm trying again.
I have two other blogs at Buddy's blog and GOP 1.
I will add more about my profile later. However I am a born again Christian and very conservative. The liberals would consider me a right wing fundamentalist. I believe the Bible is true all the way from Genesis to Maps.(It either has to be 100% right or if not it is all wrong. Truth is the only thing that's perfect.)
I have three adult children who I am very proud of, Eddie(who is married to nice young lady I am proud to call my daughter in law Stacey), Wendy & Scott. I have a beautiful Granddaughter named Mackenzie, who is 2.
I enjoy coaching,helping young people and playing with my granddaughter.
I am very interested in politics and am President of our County Republican Club.
